FRENCH SCOUTS PROMOTE ASIA-PACIFIC JAMBOREE


Some 50 Filipino Scouts from 12 schools in Laguna, City of Santa Rosa, Makati, Manila and Quezon City, pose with their counterparts from Scout de France at the end of the three-day Test Camp held at PSC-APR, Makiling National Scout Reservation, Mt. Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna to test the facilities to be used for the 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree on Dec. 28- Jan. 3. At least 15,000 Scouts from the Asia-Pacific and other parts of the world like U.S., Britain and Africa will coverage on Mt. Makiling for the international event. It will be the third time the country will host the Asia-Pacific Jamboree.

FRENCH SCOUTS PROMOTE ASIA-PACIFIC JAMBOREE -- Boy Scouts of the Philippines Secretary General J. Rizal C. Pangilinan poses with French Scouts who called on him as part of the group’s tour of the Philippines. The group is here to render missionary works for children of Dagat-dagatan, Navotas City. They will also join select Filipino Scouts in a “test camp,” to be held on Mt. Makiling, Los Banos, Laguna to promote the 26th Asia-Pacific Jamboree which will be held in the country on Dec. 28, 2009 to Jan. 3, 2010..

HOME OF OUTSTANDING SCOUTMASTERS


HOME OF OUTSTANDING SCOUTMASTERS – Mrs. Erlinda Agor, Scout executive of Isabela Council of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, poses with past and present winners of the BSP’s search for Outstanding Scoutmasters. The Council bagged the Search for three consecutive years, breaking the records of over a hundred BSP councils nationwide. They are (from left): Samuell Apostol, principal of Pangal High School (2008 winner); Carlito Florendo, principal of Minanga Elem. School (2007); and Derico Lagua, Benito Salines High School (2009). Corazon T. Barrientos, (not in photo) schools District Superintendent of Isabela and the current Council Scout Commissioner, won the Search for Outstanding Council Commissioner, the second to win the award since 2007.

NEW BSP FOUNDATION OFFICERS


Consul General Francis Chua inducts the newly-elected members of the board and officers of the Boy Scouts Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. The foundation is a separate entity that helps BSP in some of its projects. Sworn into office are: (from left) Arthur A. Tuason – auditor; Dr. Virginia S. Cariño – treasurer; Dr. Teresita P. Salvador – secretary; Engr. John D. De Guzman – president; Ambassador Fortunato D. Oblena -- vice-president; Prof. Gladys P. Nalangan – member; Dr. Hernando S. Dizon – member. FUN, LEARNING, FRIENDSHIP



Scouts Danie Fabros and Mark Babaan, got the surprise of their life when they meet again after more than six years of separation. The two Scouts were best of friends at a kindergarten in Calumpang Day Care Center and unexpectedly saw each other again when both attended a District Camping in Carasuchi Elementary School recently. They are members of the Cavite City Council of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

BSP gets high marks from International Team



The Boy Scouts of the Philippines youth program, financial and adult resources management, public relations and communication strategies got high marks from a visiting group of Scouters sent by the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee to assess BSP’s performance in said areas. read more
